Olympic Tryouts Need volunteers

Be a part of the 2010 Olympic History!



If you can assist with one or more games in any one of the positions listed below, please contact Pam Finch at: pam.finch@denvercurlingclub.com. Indicate your availability (daytime; weekends; or evening games) and the positions you would be willing to assist. The volunteer schedule will be finalized in mid-January.

1. Transportation - drive vehicles provided by MDSC

(a) Transport team members and USCA Officials from DIA to Hotel

(b) Transportation between Hotel and Event Center - package to be purchased by spectators staying at Hotel

2. Ice Crew

(a) Assist with preparing ice for competition

(i) Feb. 18, 19 and 20

(b) Maintain ice during team practice and competition (Feb 21-28)

(i) Assist with scraping ice

(ii) Assist with sweeping and pebbling ice

(iii) Maintain carpet area around competition ice

(c) Prepare ice area for opening and closing ceremonies

3. Credential & Hospitality Committee

(a) Assist with preparing and distributing credentials at the Event Center

(i) Athletes

(ii) Officials

(iii) Media

(iv) Volunteers

(b) Information desk at Event Center

(c) Hospitality Desk at Hotel - beginning and end of the week

(i) Sell merchandise at Hospitality Desk

4. Athletes and Officials Facility Hosts

(a) Officials Locker Room

(i) Check in Officials

(ii) Confirm Officials Assignment with each Official

(iii) Track Officials equipment and jackets

(iv) Keep radio batteries charged

(v) Maintain water & food supply for Officials in Locker Room

(vi) Maintain water supply at Officials stations on the ice

(b) Hosts and security for Athlete Locker Rooms

(i) Maintain water and food supply in Athlete's Locker Rooms

(ii) Maintain water supply on Ice

5. Media Room Assistants

(a) Assist Media coordinator and USCA Media

(b) Assist with producing short stories for daily event newspaper including interviewing of athletes

(c) Report scores on end by end - game by game basis via internet

(d) Assist with game stats

6. Merchandise / MDSC/ USOC / USCA

(a) Assist with selling MDSC/USOC/USCA merchandise inside the venue

(b) Assist with merchandise items to sell

7. DENVER CURLING CLUB - Merchandise / Raffles for Denver Curling Club and Broadmoor Curling Club]

(a) Merchandise to sell within "Broom Stacker Lounge"

(b) 50/50 Raffle tickets throughout venue
